Toronto, Canada · 20+ Years of Storytelling
Stories shape the soul of a people. From the screen to the stage, I am committed to telling the truth — and helping others do the same.
I'm a filmmaker, a khateeb, a speaker, and an advocate. These aren't separate careers — they're one vocation expressed in different rooms.
I speak at conferences, galas, universities, and community events. Whether it's a keynote, a fundraising appeal, or an evening MC — I bring the same preparation and conviction to every stage.
I'm available for conferences, fundraising galas, university events, community gatherings, and faith-based institutions across North America and beyond.
I use every platform I have — stage, screen, minbar, media — to speak up for those being ignored, erased, or harmed. These aren't talking points. They're commitments.
A misguided young man ignores the wise counsel of a gang leader and enters the drug trade chasing a dream — only to discover that the price of fast money is measured in lives. Inspired by real events. Built for a generation that needs to see itself on screen — complex, flawed, and redeemable.

"The camera and the minbar are the same instrument to me — both exist to move people toward something true."
— Mamoun S. Hassan
Film reaches people who would never walk into a masjid. It crosses borders without a visa, breaks stereotypes without an argument, and changes minds without a debate.
The stage — a gala, a conference, a Friday prayer — is where I do my most urgent work. There's nothing like a live room of people ready to be moved.
I've been giving khutbahs and teaching Islam across North America for over 20 years. My approach is story-driven — rooted in Quran and Sunnah, but grounded in the real lives of Muslims navigating the West.
I'm also active in the public sphere: media appearances, institutional talks, and advocacy work defending Muslim dignity and belonging.
Story-driven Jumu'ah addresses for masajid and Islamic centres across North America.
Tafseer series, Ramadan programming, and Islamic studies for communities and institutions.
Iftar talks, Tarawih tafseer, and Ramadan keynotes connecting the sacred month to contemporary life.
TV appearances, public commentary, and speaking engagements defending Muslim dignity and belonging.
I grew up between worlds — the masjid and the mainstream, the lens and the lectern, Sudan and Canada. That in-between is where I've always done my most honest work.
I'm based in Toronto. I make films, give khutbahs, speak at events, and advocate for causes I believe in. Purple Don't Cry was my first feature — it won't be my last. The work continues.
Whether you're booking a speaker, commissioning a film, inviting a khateeb, or collaborating on a project that serves people — this is how you reach me.
